Ricky Hatton will be trained by Floyd Mayweather Sr for his fight against Paulie Malignaggi, the IBF light-welterweight champion, in Las Vegas on November 22.

The American, father to Floyd Jr - Hatton's conqueror last year, will fly into Manchester later this month to oversee Hatton's training. Mayweather will be assisted by Lee Beard, who has been a key member of Team Hatton for more than year.

The Malignaggi fight will be the first of Hatton's professional career without former trainer Billy Graham, with whom he parted company last month and the 29-year-old is looking forward to working with Mayweather and utilising his vast experience. "At this stage of my career I am not going to change my style too much but you are never too old to learn," Hatton said. "I have spoken with my team and we are all sure that I'll benefit from Floyd's incredible knowledge.

"The fight against Malignaggi is make or break and I'm convinced this will be the best training camp I have ever had."

Hatton and his team will fly to Las Vegas at the end of next week for a press conference with Malignaggi at the MGM Grand on September 13.

Mayweather Sr, 55, is one of the world's top trainers, having worked with his son and is currently working with Oscar de la Hoya and Joan Guzman. He had 36 professional bouts as a welterweight including a loss to Sugar Ray Leonard in 1978.
