1651BST: We're going to end our live commentary here. Join us again at 0200 BST tomorrow morning.
1648BST Have you seen the website dedicated to Bolt that has been updated during the Games? It's not bad. It includes a and his video blog and game in which you can race the big man. In one entry recorded before the 100 metres final, he races himself and posts a time of 9.69sec, before predicting he would run that in Beijing. Perhaps that explains why he slowed up in the final.
1624BST As day 12 enters its final half hour, we'll continue with a round-up of your emails on the past 16 hours or so. Shankar, from Reading, has a message of Bolt: "Your record should stand for ever," he writes. "I shall pray for you." Also writing about the Jamaican, Izzee in Reading says: "He's quality. It's intresting to watch him running. Good luck to the lad." Who said Times readers get carried away by the hype at a sporting event?
1618BST If the media was incorrect in its coverage of the smog, Tony, they were not the only ones to be mislead. Haile Gebrselassie, a man with a not-insignificant interest in the air quality at the Olympics, was so concerned by it that he chose not to enter the marathon. As he said on admitting that he regrets the decision, the Beijing skies were just cleaner than expected.
1616BST Tony, from Birmingham, emails to say: "And the media made us believe that the air pollution in Beijing will affect everyone's physical performance! Do the media not report anything except for things that are misleading?"
1610BST Chang from Swindon has helpfully emailed a link to the NBC's website showing their new medal table. You'll see that it demotes Britain from third to fourth behind Russia. We're still ahead of Australia, though, albeit by only one medal.
1602BST The BBC have collared Bolt. "This is a dream come true," he says of his world record and 200 metre-victory. "I'm really happy for myself. You can't explain how you feel. I just proved to the world that I'm a true champion and what you can do with hard work.
1600BST "It's been probably the worst - and now the best - year of my whole life," Danvers says. "I knew it was there but getting all the pieces to fit at the right time is an art and it's finally happening for me!"
1540BST Melaine Walker of Jamaica is the winner with an Olympic record of 52.64sec. Sheena Tosta of the US is second and Tasha Danvers of Britain earns a remarkable bronze. Her time of 53.84sec was a personal best. Not a bad time to do so. This is Britain's third medal on the track so far. She got eighth in Sydney 2000, missed out on Athens to have a child and has had her fair share of injuries, so it was a remarkable run for an athlete who had struggled for most of the season.
1530BST Churandy Martina of the Dutch Antilles is down as second, Shawn Crawford of the United States is third. He replaces his team-mate Wallace Spearmon, who was disqualified for running on the line in lane nine. Christian Malcolm was sixth. The stadium is now serenading Bolt with "Happy Birthday". It is tomorrow. He will be 22. Next up is the women's 400 metres hurdles. Tasha Danvers is in this for Britain. Sally Gunnell won in this event for Britain in Barcelona in 1992. Can Danvers do similar? It would be a massive shock if she did.
1525BST "Superman II" is what Michael Johnson, whose record he has just beaten, says. It was nice to see Bolt actually try for the whole distance of the race for once. He is the first man since Don Quarrie, his fellow Jamaican, back in 1976 to hold the world record in the 100 metres and 200 metres simultaneously.
1523BST HE'S DONE IT! 19.30SEC INTO A HEADWIND! BOLT WINS THE OLYMPIC SPRINT DOUBLE! He takes the record of 12 years and becomes the first Olympic sprint double champion in 24 years. Not sure who was second, but frankly who cares.

I think they should measure this so-called polluted air for aerosol stimulants!!! Bolt is a "freak" of nature, maybe we should examine his mom and dad!! congratualtions to Jamaica!
Marty Price, Oakland, United States
