Great Britain have been handed a home draw against Ukraine after they were relegated to the Europe/Africa Zone Group of the Davis Cup on Sunday.

Britain were among the seeded nations for today's draw in Madrid, giving them a bye past the first round of ties. They will face the nation ranked 41 in the world on March 6-8. Victory would carry them in the World Group play-offs.

Britain lost their World Group relegation play-off against Austria 3-2 at Wimbledon on Sunday.

John Lloyd, the captain, said he was confident of winning the tie.

"This is definitely a match we are capable of winning," he said. "[Sergiy] Stakhovsky is a good young player who is on the up and can play well on any surface but I think this a good draw for us.

"Now it's time for us to do a bit of research on what is the best surface for the players, so I'll spend some time studying the results of their players over the last year and start thinking about where we're going to play.

"They will be full of confidence after a 5-0 win against Portugal to make it into this group but we beat them last time when we had to travel away, so I'm confident that we will be able to do it again."
